2013 Audi Quattro Concept

Latest news say that the recent Audi Quattro Concept that was unveiled at the autumn 2010 Paris Auto Show, has the green light to start its limited production in early 2013 in Europe and most likely, in 2014 in the US. This classy new two-seater will weigh 300kg (661 pounds) lighter than Audi’s infamous R8, proving the manufacturer’s goal of cutting major flab from all of its future models. The machine will use a lot of exotic materials to keep the weight below 1,400 kg (3,086 pounds). It will use the same 4.2-liter engine as the RS5 but it will be tweaked to produce more than 450 hp. Its engine would also have to be “mounted longitudinally instead of transversely”, according to Stephan Reil, head of Quattro GmbH. This car could change the trend on how to brag your sports car, from the usual “Dude, my car has 100 horsepower more than yours”, it should now be “Dude, my car weighs 100kg (over 200 pounds) less than yours!” The Audi Quattro is built by power-to-weight ratio and not power alone.
